Launch Of Jeevanjee Rehabilitation
On 24th February 2014 the Nairobi City County Government launched the rehabilitation of the Jevanjee Gardens in Nairobi CBD with support from the UN-HABITAT. The rehabilitation will be done at a cost of Kshs. 30M. During the Launch, Dr. Kidero said that Jevanjee Gardens would also be used as a prime opportunity and positive example for getting more of the private sector to invest in our city.Read more
Governor Launches 21 Day Rapid Results Initiative To Improve Aesthetic View Of Mombasa Road
In a program initiated for the achievement of the governor’s pillars and county strategic objectives, the Nairobi City County Government on 11th February 2014 launched a 21 day Rapid Results Initiative (RRI) on Mombasa road that will eventually spread to other areas.
The goal is to improve beautification along Mombasa road from Nyayo Stadium to Mavoko boarder in 21 days.Read more
Foton Donates To Mbagathi Hospital
The Foton Motor Company has donated an ambulance to Mbagathi Hospital. Presenting a brand new fully equipped modern ambulance to Mbagathi Hospital on 7th February 2014, the Governor of Nairobi City County said that this was yet another show of commitment towards improving the healthcare system in Nairobi.

Dr. Evans Kidero, Governor, Nairobi City County
Born in Majengo- Nairobi, to a father who was a policeman, and a mother who was a homemaker, Dr. Evans Kidero grew up in a large extended family of 7 children, where he was the eldest. Dr. Evans Kidero attended primary school in Nairobi, and completed secondary school at Mangu High school where he was the Head Boy. Dr. Kidero went on to attend the University of Nairobi, where he graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree and thereafter got his first job working as a pharmacist at Kenyatta National Hospital. He went on to obtain a Masters of Business Administration in 1990 at United States International University in Kenya. These qualifications, his personal abilities and the hand of God set him on the path for an illustrious career in corporate management.
The highlights of this career include: 4 years at Warner Lambert, 12 years at SmithKline Beecham Healthcare International, 2 years at the helm of Nation Media Group, and (most recently) 10 years in the stewardship of Mumias Sugar Company. It is from Mumias that Dr. Kidero recently resigned to pursue a political career in Nairobi county governorship. From a 28-year career in the competitive corporate environment, Dr. Kidero has acquired leadership and management skills that make him a suitable candidate for a job that requires experience, competence and caring.
Jonathan Mueke, Deputy Governor - Nairobi City County
With an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and an MBA in Global IT and Entrepreneurship, Jonathan Mueke brings to the top leadership of the Nairobi County youthfulness, technology know how, entrepreneurial and transformative leadership skills — just what Nairobi needs to face the challenges of youth unemployment, inefficiency and change management.
Jonathan has previously held several senior IT management positions in the education, manufacturing, retail as well as financial sectors and has business interests in technology and real estate. His leadership potential has been identified both in professional and political spheres, earning him honors locally and abroad, including being an elected member of Strathmore Who’s Who in leadership (USA).
He has founded, launched, expanded or served in community initiatives such as youth groups, community based organizations, churches, schools and community centers.

All those running business activities in Nairobi and its environs which fall under Nairobi City County jurisdiction are required to obtain Single Business Permits in line with the County Finance Act, 2013.
Notice is hereby given to members of the Business Community that the renewal of Single Business Permit for year 2014 started on 1st September 2013 and is ongoing up to 31st December 2013 after which it becomes due.
Payment should be made in Cash or Bankers Cheques ONLY at Nairobi City County, Main Cash Office City Hall or at any Co-operative Bank of Kenya country wide upon obtaining an official invoice to account detailed below:

Solid Waste Management
One of the major issue facing the City is the establishment of a proper solid waste management system. The situation has been creating serious problems in hygiene, as well as environmental and aesthetic conditions to the people of Nairobi City.
